LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD -
MACK MIYA OF MACK MIYA'S GYM

Mack Miya

T he first ever PRO-FITNESS PROGRAM Lifetime Achievement award, for contribution by an independent club owner to our industry and community, was given to Mack Miya of Mack’s Gym in Toronto. Still working in his club every day, after being in business for 60 years, Mack was hands down the overwhelming choice for this first award.

Marty Hodgson presented Mack with the plaque with great reverence and said “that anyone who was anything or knows anything in the bodybuilding and fitness club world would be happy to bow at the feet of Mack Miya”

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD -
RON PARNIS OF RON's GYM

Ron Parnis

Ron Parnis from Ron`s Gym will join us on Mar. 10/06. He has a very interesting story to tell, from his first gym in a double garage in 1951, to a 600 sq. ft. gym on Christie. Then his first commercial venture into the business in 1961 with Ron`s Health Studio on Medland.

Next was Ron`s Gym on Dundas at 5000sq. ft. where one John Cardillo used to train. In 1973 he entered the fitness market as Ron`s Fitness Centre in Mississauga.

Finally, in 1983 he moved to Keele & Lawrence as Ron`s Gym which is now operating as Ultra Fitness.
